कन्दर्प-मोहन जगद्-वृजिनार्ति-हारिन्
आनन्द-कन्द यदु-नन्दन नन्द-सूनो
अद्यागमस्य शपथं कुरु मे पुरस् त्वम्

lokābhirāma jana-bhūṣaṇa viśva-dīpa
kandarpa-mohana jagad-vṛjinārti-hārin
ānanda-kanda yadu-nandana nanda-sūno
adyāgamasya śapathaṃ kuru me puras tvam

loka—of the worlds; abhirāma—O happiness; jana—of the people; bhūṣaṇa—O ornament; viśva—of the universe; dīpa—O lamp; kandarpa—as kāmadeva; mohana—charming; jagat—of the universes; vṛjina—of the sins; arti—the sufferings; hārin—O remover; ānanda-kanda—O source of bliss; yadu-nandana—O descendent of Yadu; nanda-sūnaḥ—O son of Nanda; adya—today; āgamasya—of the return; śapatham—vow; kuru—do; me—of Me; puraḥ—in the presence; tvam—You.

English translation of verse 5.4.17:

O happiness of the worlds, O ornament of the people, O lamp lighting the universe, O youth more handsome than Kāmadeva, O Lord who removes the world's sufferings, O root from which all bliss has blossomed, O descendent of King Yadu, O son of Nanda, promise Me that You will return.
