The Garga-samhita Verse 5.2.3, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 2 (The Killing of Keshi) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

तं वीक्ष्य दुःसह-जवं
गोप-गोपी-गणा भृशाम्
भयातुरा मैथिलेन्द्र
श्री-कृष्णं सरणं ययुः

taṃ vīkṣya duḥsaha-javaṃ
gopa-gopī-gaṇā bhṛśām
bhayāturā maithilendra
śrī-kṛṣṇaṃ saraṇaṃ yayuḥ

tam—him; vīkṣyaseeing; duḥsaha-javam—running with unstoppable speed; gopa-gopī-gaṇāthe gopas and gopīs; bhṛśām—greatly; bhayāturā—afraid; maithilendra—O king of Mithilā; śrī-kṛṣṇam—to Śrī Kṛṣṇa; saraṇam—for shelter; yayuḥ—went.

English translation of verse 5.2.3:

When they saw him fiercely charge at them, the terrified gopas and gopīs ran to Śrī Kṛṣṇa for shelter.
