ब्राह्मनो ब्रह्म-वर्चस्वि राजन्यो जगति-पतिः
brāhmano brahma-varcasvi rājanyo jagati-patiḥ
वैच्यो निधि-पतिर् भुयाच् छुद्रः च्रुत्वा तु निर्मलः
vaicyo nidhi-patir bhuyāc chudraḥ crutvā tu nirmalaḥ
brāhmanaḥ—a brāhmana; brahma-varcasvi—brahminical power; rājanyaḥ—kings; jagati-patiḥ—the master of the world; vaicyaḥ—a vaisya; nidhi-patiḥ—the master of great welath; bhuyāt—may be; cudraḥ—a sudra; crutvā—hearing; tu—indeed; nirmalaḥ—pure.
English translation of verse 4.19.136:
By hearing these thousand names a brāhmana attains great brahminical power,
a ksatriya becomes king of the world, a vaicya becomes the master of great wealth, and a cudra becomes pure in heart.
