The Garga-samhita Verse 4.18.4, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 4 of Chapter 18 (The Names and Worship of Sri Yamuna) of Canto 4 (madhurya-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

कालिन्दीति चतुर्थ्य् अन्ते देवी-पदम् अतः परम् नमः पच्चात् सम्विधार्य जपेन् मन्त्रम् इमम् नरः

kālindīti caturthy ante devī-padam ataḥ param namaḥ paccāt samvidhārya japen mantram imam naraḥ

kālindiKalindi; iti—thus; caturthy—in the dative case; ante—at the end; devī-padamthe word devi; ataḥ param—then; namaḥnamaḥ; paccāt—then; samvidhārya—placing; japen—chanting; mantram—mantram; imam—this; naraḥ -a person.

English translation of verse 4.18.4:

Then one takes the word Kālindī, places the word devī after it, places these words in the dative case, and then adds the word namaḥ. This is the mantra that one chants.

Note: The mantra then becomes, "Om hrīm śrīm klīm kālindyai devyai namaḥ".
