श्री-मन्धातोवाच क्र्स्नायाः पतलम् पुन्यम् कामदम् पद्धतिम् तथा वद माम् मुनि-चार्दुल त्वम् साक्साज् ज्नान-चेवधिः
śrī-mandhātovāca krsnāyāḥ patalam punyam kāmadam paddhatim tathā vada mām muni-cārdula tvam sāksāj jnāna-cevadhiḥ
śrī-mandhātā uvāca—Srī Mandhātā said; krsnāyāḥ—of the Yamunā; patalam—the patala; punyam—sacred; kāmadam—fulfilling desires; paddhatim—the paddhati; tathā—so; vada—please tell; mām—to me; muni-cārdula—O tiger among sages; tvam—you; sāksāt—directly; jnāna-cevadhiḥ—filled with knowledge.
English translation of verse 4.18.1:
Srī Mandhātā said: O tiger among sages, you are filled with transcendental knowledge. Please describe to me the Yamunā-patala and the Yamunā-paddhati, which fulfill all desires.
