The Garga-samhita Verse 4.18.1, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 4 of Chapter 18 (The Names and Worship of Sri Yamuna) of Canto 4 (madhurya-khanda).

श्री-मन्धातोवाच क्र्स्नायाः पतलम् पुन्यम् कामदम् पद्धतिम् तथा वद माम् मुनि-चार्दुल त्वम् साक्साज् ज्नान-चेवधिः

śrī-mandhātovāca krsnāyāḥ patalam punyam kāmadam paddhatim tathā vada mām muni-cārdula tvam sāksāj jnāna-cevadhiḥ

śrī-mandhātā uvāca—Srī Mandhātā said; krsnāyāḥ—of the Yamunā; patalamthe patala; punyam—sacred; kāmadam—fulfilling desires; paddhatim—the paddhati; tathā—so; vadaplease tell; mām—to me; muni-cārdula—O tiger among sages; tvam—you; sāksāt—directly; jnāna-cevadhiḥ—filled with knowledge.

English translation of verse 4.18.1:

Srī Mandhātā said: O tiger among sages, you are filled with transcendental knowledge. Please describe to me the Yamunā-patala and the Yamunā-paddhati, which fulfill all desires.
