क्र्स्नाम् चतुर्-भुजाम् च्यामाम् पुण्डरीक-दलेक्सनाम् रथ-स्थाम् सुन्दरीम् ध्यात्वा धारयेत् कवचम् ततः

krsnām catur-bhujām cyāmām puṇḍarīka-daleksanām ratha-sthām sundarīm dhyātvā dhārayet kavacam tataḥ

krsnām—dark; catur-bhujām—four arms; cyāmām—dark; puṇḍarīka-daleksanām—with lotus petal eyes; ratha-sthām—seated on a chariot; sundarīm—beautiful; dhyātvā—meditsting; dhārayet—should meditate; kavacam—kavaca; tataḥ—then.

English translation of verse 4.16.3:

One should meditate on dark, four-armed, beautiful, lotus-petal-eyed Yamunā, who is seated on a chariot. Then one should meditate on the Yamunā-kavaca.
