The Garga-samhita Verse 4.12.16, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 4 of Chapter 12 (The Story of the Gopis That In the Holi Festival Displayed Three Transcendental Virtues) of Canto 4 (madhurya-khanda).

आबीरारुण-चूर्णानां
मुष्टिभिस् ता इतस् ततः
कुर्वत्यश् चारुणं भूमिं
दिग्-अन्तं चाम्बरं तथा

ābīrāruṇa-cūrṇānāṃ
muṣṭibhis tā itas tataḥ
kurvatyaś cāruṇaṃ bhūmiṃ
dig-antaṃ cāmbaraṃ tathā

ābīrāruṇa-cūrṇānām—with red powder; muṣṭibhiḥ—with fists; tā—they; itaḥ tataḥ—here and there; kurvatyaś—doing; ca—and; aruṇam—red; bhūmim—earth; dig-antamthe directions; ca—and; ambaram—the sky; tathā—so.

English translation of verse 4.12.16:

Throwing fistfulls of red powder, they reddened the sky, the earth, and all the directions.
