The Garga-samhita Verse 4.8.45, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. विधिवद् विधि-हीनं वा
द्वादश्यां दानम् एव च
स्व्-अल्पं वा सु-कृतं गोप्यो
मेरु-तुल्यं भवेच् च तत्

vidhivad vidhi-hīnaṃ vā
dvādaśyāṃ dānam eva ca
sv-alpaṃ vā su-kṛtaṃ gopyo
meru-tulyaṃ bhavec ca tat

vidhivatfollowing rules; vidhi-hīnam—not following rules; vā—or; dvādaśyām—on dvadasi; dānamcharity; eva—indeed; ca—and; sv-alpamslight; vā—or; su-kṛtam—nicely done; gopyaḥ—O gopīs; meru-tulyam—equal to Mount Meru; bhavet—may be; ca—and; tat—that.

English translation of verse 4.8.45:

O gopīs, when, either following the proper method or not following it, and whether it is great or small, one gives charity on dvādaśī, that charity becomes as great as a Mount Meru of charity.
