The Garga-samhita Verse 4.8.43, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 4 of Chapter 8 (In the Story of the Yajna-sitas, the Glories of Ekadashi) of Canto 4 (madhurya-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

यथा शुक्ला तथा कृष्णा
द्वयोश् च सादृशं फलम्
धेनुः श्वेता तथा कृष्णा
उभयोः सादृशं पयः

yathā śuklā tathā kṛṣṇā
dvayoś ca sādṛśaṃ phalam
dhenuḥ śvetā tathā kṛṣṇā
ubhayoḥ sādṛśaṃ payaḥ

yathā—as; śuklālight; tathā—so; kṛṣṇādark; dvayoḥ—of them both; ca—and; sādṛśam—equality; phalam—result; dhenuḥ—a cow; śvetāwhite; tathā—so; kṛṣṇā—black; ubhayoḥ—of them both; sādṛśam—the same; payaḥ—milk.

English translation of verse 4.8.43:

As a white cow and a black cow both give the same kind of milk, so the ekādaśī of the bright fortnight and the ekādaśī of the dark fortnight both bring the same result.
