The Garga-samhita Verse 4.8.31, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. श्री-गोप्य ऊचुः
एकादशी-व्रतस्यास्य
कालं वद महा-मते
किं फलं वद तस्यास् तु
माहात्म्यं वद तत्त्वतः

śrī-gopya ūcuḥ
ekādaśī-vratasyāsya
kālaṃ vada mahā-mate
kiṃ phalaṃ vada tasyās tu
māhātmyaṃ vada tattvataḥ

śrī-gopya ūcuḥ—the gopīs said; ekādaśī-vratasya asyaof the vow of ekādaśī; kālamthe time; vadaplease tell; mahā-mate—O noble-hearted one; kim—what?; phalam—the result; vada—please tell; tasyāḥ—of that; tu—indeed; māhātmyam—teh glories; vada—please tell; tattvataḥ—in truth.

English translation of verse 4.8.31:

The gopīs said: O noble-hearted one, please tell us when the vow of ekādaśī should be observed. What is the result of following ekādaśī? Please tell us. Please tell us in truth the glories of ekādaśī.
