कथाः श्रुत्वा ब्राह्मणेभ्यो
दद्यात् सद्-दक्षिणां पुनः
रात्रौ जागरणं कुर्याद्
गायन् कृष्ण-पदानि च

kathāḥ śrutvā brāhmaṇebhyo
dadyāt sad-dakṣiṇāṃ punaḥ
rātrau jāgaraṇaṃ kuryād
gāyan kṛṣṇa-padāni ca

English translation of verse 4.8.25:

From the brāhmaṇas one should hear the stories of Lord Kṛṣṇa. One should offer dakṣiṇā to them. One should keep a vigil, singing the glories of Lord Kṛṣṇa throughout the night.
