The Garga-samhita Verse 4.8.11, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 4 of Chapter 8 (In the Story of the Yajna-sitas, the Glories of Ekadashi) of Canto 4 (madhurya-khanda).

श्री-राधोवाच
मार्गशीर्षे कृष्ण-पक्षे
उत्पन्ना विष्णु-देहतः
मुर-दैत्य-वधार्थाय
तिथिर् एकादशी वरा

śrī-rādhovāca
mārgaśīrṣe kṛṣṇa-pakṣe
utpannā viṣṇu-dehataḥ
mura-daitya-vadhārthāya
tithir ekādaśī varā

śrī-rādhā uvāca—Srī Rādhā said; mārgaśīrṣe—in margasirsa; kṛṣṇa-pakṣe—during the dark fortnight; utpannā—Utpanna; viṣṇu-dehataḥ—from the body of Lord Viṣṇu; mura-daitya-vadhārthāya—to kill the demon Mura; tithiḥ—the day; ekādaśīekādaśī; varāvarā.

English translation of verse 4.8.11:

Srī Rādhā said: During the dark fortnight of the month of Mārgaśīrṣa

(November-December), in order to kill the demon Mura, the holy day of ekādaśī was born from the body of Lord Viṣṇu.
