तं पूज्य विमलो राज
दत्त्वा तस्मै बलिं बहु
पप्रच्छ सर्वाभिप्रायं
भीष्मं धर्म-भृतां वरम्
taṃ pūjya vimalo rāja
dattvā tasmai baliṃ bahu
papraccha sarvābhiprāyaṃ
bhīṣmaṃ dharma-bhṛtāṃ varam
tam—him; pūjya—worshiping; vimalaḥ—Vimala; rāja—King; dattvā—giving; tasmai—to him; balim—a gift; bahu—great; papraccha—asked; sarvābhiprāyam—who knows everything; bhīṣmam—Bhīṣma; dharma-bhṛtām—of pious men; varam—the best.
English translation of verse 4.6.19:
After worshiping him and giving him many gifts, King Vimala asked a question of all-knowing Bhīṣma, the best of pious men.
