The Garga-samhita Verse 4.6.19, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 4 of Chapter 6 (The Story of the Ayodhya Women) of Canto 4 (madhurya-khanda).

तं पूज्य विमलो राज
दत्त्वा तस्मै बलिं बहु
पप्रच्छ सर्वाभिप्रायं
भीष्मं धर्म-भृतां वरम्

taṃ pūjya vimalo rāja
dattvā tasmai baliṃ bahu
papraccha sarvābhiprāyaṃ
bhīṣmaṃ dharma-bhṛtāṃ varam

tam—him; pūjyaworshiping; vimalaḥVimala; rājaKing; dattvāgiving; tasmai—to him; balim—a gift; bahugreat; papraccha—asked; sarvābhiprāyam—who knows everything; bhīṣmam—Bhīṣma; dharma-bhṛtām—of pious men; varamthe best.

English translation of verse 4.6.19:

After worshiping him and giving him many gifts, King Vimala asked a question of all-knowing Bhīṣma, the best of pious men.
