The Garga-samhita Verse 4.2.1, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 4 of Chapter 2 (The Story of the Gopis That Had Been Sages) of Canto 4 (madhurya-khanda).

श्री-नारद उवाच
गोपीनां ऋषि-रूपाणां
आख्यानं शृणु मैथिल
सर्व-पाप-हरं पुण्यं
कृष्ण-भक्ति-विवर्धनम्

śrī-nārada uvāca
gopīnāṃ ṛṣi-rūpāṇāṃ
ākhyānaṃ śṛṇu maithila
sarva-pāpa-haraṃ puṇyaṃ
kṛṣṇa-bhakti-vivardhanam

śrī-nārada uvāca—Srī Nārada said; gopīnām—of the gopīs; ṛṣi-rūpāṇām—in the form of sages; ākhyānam—the story; śṛṇu—hear; maithilaO king of Mithilā; sarva-pāpa-haram—removing all sins; puṇyam—sacred; kṛṣṇa-bhakti-vivardhanam—increasing love for Lord Kṛṣṇa.

English translation of verse 4.2.1:

Srī Nārada said: O king of Mithilā, please hear the story of the gopīs that had been sages, a sacred story that removes all sins and increases one's love for Lord Kṛṣṇa.
