क्षिपन्तीनां च गोपीनां
पश्यन्तीनां मुनीश्वरः
जघास कोटिशो भरान्
भोगान् सर्वान् क्षुदातुरः
kṣipantīnāṃ ca gopīnāṃ
paśyantīnāṃ munīśvaraḥ
jaghāsa koṭiśo bharān
bhogān sarvān kṣudāturaḥ
kṣipantīnām—placing; ca—and; gopīnām—gopīs; paśyantīnām—looking; munīśvaraḥ—the king of sages; jaghāsa—ate; koṭiśaḥ—thousands; bharān—of bharas; bhogān—oif food; sarvān—all; kṣudāturaḥ—tormented with hunger.
English translation of verse 4.1.31:
As the gopīs fed him and watched what he did, Durvāsā, the king of sages, ate thousands of bhāras of food as if he were tormented with hunger.
