The Garga-samhita Verse 3.6.25, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 3 of Chapter 6 (The Test of Shri Krishna) of Canto 3 (giriraja-khanda).

श्री-नारद उवाच
इत्थं विचार्य नन्दो ऽपि
कृष्णं पप्रच्छ सादरम्
प्रहसन् भगवान् नन्दं
प्राह गोवर्धनोद्धरः

śrī-nārada uvāca
itthaṃ vicārya nando 'pi
kṛṣṇaṃ papraccha sādaram
prahasan bhagavān nandaṃ
prāha govardhanoddharaḥ

śrī-nārada uvāca—Śrī Nārada said; ittham—thus; vicāryaconsidering; nandaḥNanda; api—also; kṛṣṇam—Kṛṣṇa; papraccha—asked; sādaram—respectfully; prahasan—laughing; bhagavānthe Lord; nandam—to Nanda; prāha—said; govardhanoddharaḥ—the lifter of Govardhana Hill.

English translation of verse 3.6.25:

Śrī Nārada said: Thinking in this way, Nanda asked Kṛṣṇa. Lord Kṛṣṇa, the lifter of Govardhana Hill, smiled and respectfully spoke to King Nanda.
