The Garga-samhita Verse 3.6.22, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 3 of Chapter 6 (The Test of Shri Krishna) of Canto 3 (giriraja-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

अथ नन्दो ऽपि गणयन्
कलिका-निचयं पुनः
शतं न्यूनं च तद् दृष्ट्वा
सन्देहं स जगाम ह

atha nando 'pi gaṇayan
kalikā-nicayaṃ punaḥ
śataṃ nyūnaṃ ca tad dṛṣṭvā
sandehaṃ sa jagāma ha

athathen; nandaḥNanda; api—also; gaṇayan—counting; kalikā-nicayam—the pearl necklaces; punaḥ—again; śatam—one hundred; nyūnam—diminished; ca—and; tat—that; dṛṣṭvāseeing; sandeham—doubt; sa—he; jagāma—attained; ha—indeed.

English translation of verse 3.6.22:

When he again counted the pearl necklaces, and found they were one hundred necklaces less, Nanda became filled with doubt.
