इति श्रुत्वात्मजे गोपाः
सन्देहं न करोम्य् अहम्
वेद-वाक्यं ब्रह्म-वचः
प्रमाणं हि मही-तले
iti śrutvātmaje gopāḥ
sandehaṃ na karomy aham
veda-vākyaṃ brahma-vacaḥ
pramāṇaṃ hi mahī-tale
iti—thus; śrutvā—hearing; atmaje—about his son; gopāḥ—the gopas; sandeham—doubt; na—not; karomy—did; aham—I; veda-vākyam—the words of the Vedas; brahma-vacaḥ—the words of a brāhmaṇa; pramāṇam—evidence; hi—indeed; mahī-tale—on the earth.
English translation of verse 3.5.20:
When I heard Garga Muni say this about my son, I did not doubt his words.
The words of the Vedas and the words of a brāhmaṇa are the final proof of what is true in this world.
