अथ गोवर्धने रम्ये
सुरभिर् गौः समुद्र-जा
स्नापयाम् आस गोपेशं
दुग्ध-धाराभिर् आत्मनः

atha govardhane ramye
surabhir gauḥ samudra-jā
snāpayām āsa gopeśaṃ
dugdha-dhārābhir ātmanaḥ

athathen; govardhane—on Govardhana Hill; ramye—beautiful; surabhiḥsurabhi; gauḥ—cow; samudra-jā—born from the ocean of milk; snāpayām āsa—bathed; gopaof the gopas; īśam—the king; dugdha-dhārābhiḥ—with streams of milk; ātmanaḥ—own.

English translation of verse 3.4.8:

Then, on beautiful Govardhana Hill, the surabhi cow born from the milk-ocean bathed the gopa-king Kṛṣṇa with great streams of milk.
