The Garga-samhita Verse 2.24.16, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 2 of Chapter 24 (The Story of Asuri Muni in the Rasa-dance Pastime) of Canto 2 (vrindavana-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

काश्चिद् वै मधुरं तालं
ताडयन्त्यो हरेः पुरः
मुर-यष्टिं सङ्गृहीत्वा
हरिणा माधवी-तले

kāścid vai madhuraṃ tālaṃ
tāḍayantyo hareḥ puraḥ
mura-yaṣṭiṃ saṅgṛhītvā
hariṇā mādhavī-tale

kāścit—some; vai—indeed; madhuram—sweetly; tālam—the karatalas; tāḍayantyaḥ—playing; hareḥof Lord Kṛṣṇa; puraḥ—again; mura-yaṣṭim—murus and yastis; saṅgṛhītvā—taking; hariṇā—with Kṛṣṇa; mādhavī-tale—among the madhavi vines.

English translation of verse 2.24.16:

Some sweetly play karatālas before Lord Kṛṣṇa. Others play murus and yaṣṭis with Lord Kṛṣṇa among the flowering mādhavī vines.
