यत्र यत्र गतो धावन्
शङ्खचूडो महा-खलः
तत्र तत्र गतः कृष्णः
शाल-हस्तो भृशां रुषा
yatra yatra gato dhāvan
śaṅkhacūḍo mahā-khalaḥ
tatra tatra gataḥ kṛṣṇaḥ
śāla-hasto bhṛśāṃ ruṣā
yatra yatra—wherever; gataḥ—went; dhāvan—running; śaṅkhacūḍaḥ—Śaṅkhacūḍa; mahā-khalaḥ—the great demon; tatra tatra—there; gataḥ—went; kṛṣṇaḥ—Kṛṣṇa; śāla-hastaḥ—a sala tree in His hand; bhṛśām—very; ruṣā—angrily.
English translation of verse 2.23.38:
Wherever the great demon Śaṅkhacūḍa ran, angry Kṛṣṇa, a śāla tree in His hand, followed.
