अथ कंसम् अनुज्ञाप्य
गृहं गन्तुं समुद्यतः
गच्छन् मार्गे ऽशृणोद् रात्रौ
रास-गानं मनोहरम्
atha kaṃsam anujñāpya
gṛhaṃ gantuṃ samudyataḥ
gacchan mārge 'śṛṇod rātrau
rāsa-gānaṃ manoharam
atha—then; kaṃsam—Kaṃsa; anuj 24āpya—inviting; gṛham—home; gantum—to go; samudyataḥ—begun; gacchan—going; mārge—on the path; aśṛṇot—heard; rātrau—at night; rāsa-gānam—the musico0f the rasa dance; manoharam—beautiful.
English translation of verse 2.23.28:
Then Śaṅkhacūḍa invited Kaṃsa to his home. Traveling on the road at night, they heard the beautiful singing of the rāsa dance.
