The Garga-samhita Verse 2.23.26, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 2 of Chapter 23 (The Killing of Shankhacuda During the Rasa-dance Pastime) of Canto 2 (vrindavana-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

तस्मात् प्रेम प्रकर्तव्यं
शङ्खचूडे यदूद्वह
यक्ष-राट् च त्वया कंसे
कर्तव्यं प्रेम निश्चितम्

tasmāt prema prakartavyaṃ
śaṅkhacūḍe yadūdvaha
yakṣa-rāṭ ca tvayā kaṃse
kartavyaṃ prema niścitam

tasmāt—therefore; premalove; prakartavyam—should be done; śaṅkhacūḍe—for Śaṅkhacūḍa; yadūdvahaO king of the Yadus; yakṣa-rāṭ—the king of the yaksa; ca—and; tvayā—by you; kaṃse—for Kaṃsa; kartavyam—should be done; prema—love; niścitam—certainly.

English translation of verse 2.23.26:

Therefore, O king of the Yadus, you should make friends with Śaṅkhacūḍa, and you, O king of the yakṣas should make friends with Kaṃsa.
