The Garga-samhita Verse 2.23.20, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 2 of Chapter 23 (The Killing of Shankhacuda During the Rasa-dance Pastime) of Canto 2 (vrindavana-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

शङ्खचूडस् तं गृहीत्वा
पोथयाम् आस भू-तले
एवं युद्धे सम्प्रवृत्ते
चकम्पे भूमि-मण्डलम्

śaṅkhacūḍas taṃ gṛhītvā
pothayām āsa bhū-tale
evaṃ yuddhe sampravṛtte
cakampe bhūmi-maṇḍalam

śaṅkhacūḍaḥŚaṅkhacūḍa; tam—him; gṛhītvāgrabbing; pothayām āsa—threw; bhū-tale—to the ground; evam—thus; yuddhe—in the fight; sampravṛtte—manifested; cakampe—trembled; bhūmi-maṇḍalam—the circle of the earth.

English translation of verse 2.23.20:

Then Śaṅkhacūḍa grabbed Kaṃsa and threw him to the ground. As they fought in this way, the circle of the earth trembled.
