The Garga-samhita Verse 2.23.14, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 2 of Chapter 23 (The Killing of Shankhacuda During the Rasa-dance Pastime) of Canto 2 (vrindavana-khanda).

द्वयोश् च युध्यतो राजन्
परस्पर-जिगीषया
विस्फुलिङ्गान् क्षरन्त्यौ द्वौ
गदे चूर्णी-बभूवतुः

dvayoś ca yudhyato rājan
paraspara-jigīṣayā
visphuliṅgān kṣarantyau dvau
gade cūrṇī-babhūvatuḥ

dvayoḥ—of the two of them; ca—and; yudhyataḥ—fighting; rājanO king; paraspara-jigīṣayā—with a desire to defeat each other; visphuliṅgān—sparks; kṣarantyau—throwing; dvau—both; gade—clubs; cūrṇī-babhūvatuh—broken into pieces.

English translation of verse 2.23.14:

O king, as, each trying to defeat the other, they fought, sparks flew from their clubs. Their clubs were eventually broken into pieces.
