श्री-नारद उवाच
एवं प्रियां प्रियतमः
स्कन्ध-यानेप्सितां नृप
विहायान्तर्दधे कृष्णो
स्वच्छन्द-गतिर् ईश्वरः
śrī-nārada uvāca
evaṃ priyāṃ priyatamaḥ
skandha-yānepsitāṃ nṛpa
vihāyāntardadhe kṛṣṇo
svacchanda-gatir īśvaraḥ
śrī-nāradaḥ uvāca—Śrī Nārada said; evam—thus; priyām—dear; priyatamaḥ—most dear; skandha—on the shoulders; yāna—traveling; ipsitām—desired; nṛpa—O king; vihāya—leaving; antardadhe—disappeared; kṛṣṇaḥ—Kṛṣṇa; svacchanda-gatiḥ—independent; īśvaraḥ—Supreme Controller.
English translation of verse 2.21.36:
Śrī Nārada said: O king, as Rādhā was about to climb His shoulders, Lord Kṛṣṇa, the supremely independent Personality of Godhead suddenly disappeared.
