गोप्यश् च सर्वा विरहातुरा भृशां
कृष्णं विना मैथिल निर्जने वने
ता बभ्रमुश् चाश्रु-कुलाकुलाक्ष्यो
यथा हरिण्यश् चकिता इतस् ततः
gopyaś ca sarvā virahāturā bhṛśāṃ
kṛṣṇaṃ vinā maithila nirjane vane
tā babhramuś cāśru-kulākulākṣyo
yathā hariṇyaś cakitā itas tataḥ
gopyaḥ—the gopīs; ca—and; sarvā—all; virahāturā—overcome with feelings of separation; bhṛśām—greatly; kṛṣṇam—Kṛṣṇa; vinā—without; maithila—O king of Mithilā; nirjane—in a secluded; vane—forest; tā—they; babhramuḥ—wandering; cāśru-kulākulākṣyaḥ—their eyes filled with tears; yathā—as; hariṇyaḥ—does; cakitāḥ—frightened; itaḥ tataḥ—here and there.
English translation of verse 2.21.11:
O king of Mithilā, separated from Kṛṣṇa, the gopīs were overcome with sorrow.
Their eyes filled with tears, they wandered here and there in the forest wilderness as if they were frightened deer.
