तथैव यमुना साक्षाद्
यूथी-भूत्वा समाययौ
नीलाम्बरा रत्न-भूषा
श्यामा कमल-लोचना

tathaiva yamunā sākṣād
yūthī-bhūtvā samāyayau
nīlāmbarā ratna-bhūṣā
śyāmā kamala-locanā

tathā—so; eva—indeed; yamunāthe Yamunā; sākṣātdirectly; yūthī-bhūtvā—becoming a gopī; samāyayau—came; nīlāmbarā—in blue garments; ratna-bhūṣādecorated with jewels; śyāmādark; kamalalotus; locanāeyes.

English translation of verse 2.19.18:

Then the Yamunā became a dark-complexioned, lotus-eyed, dressed in blue and decorated with jewels leader of a group of gopīs, and came there.
