जात्या स गोपः किल कृष्ण-वर्णो
ऽधुनी न वीरो न हि शील-रूपः
यस्मिंस् त्वया प्रेम कृतं सु-शीले
त्यजाशु निर्मोहनम् अद्य कृष्णम्
jātyā sa gopaḥ kila kṛṣṇa-varṇo
'dhunī na vīro na hi śīla-rūpaḥ
yasmiṃs tvayā prema kṛtaṃ su-śīle
tyajāśu nirmohanam adya kṛṣṇam
jātyā—by birth; sa—He; gopaḥ—a gopa; kila—indeed; kṛṣṇa-varṇaḥ—a śūdra; adhunī—now; na—not; vīraḥ—hero; na—not; hi—indeed; śīla-rūpaḥ—handsome; yasmin—in which; tvayā—by You; prema—love; kṛtam—done; su-śīle—O saintly girl; tyaja—abandon; āśu—at once; nirmohanam—free from illusion; adya—today; kṛṣṇam—Kṛṣṇa.
English translation of verse 2.18.18:
Although by birth He is a gopa, today He has become a low-class śūdra. He is not a hero, and He does not have good character. O saintly girl, today You should be free of illusion. Give up Your love for this Kṛṣṇa.
