मार्ग-खेदेन वा कच्चिद्
विह्वलाभूद् रुजाथवा
शीघ्रं वद महा-भागे
स्वस्य दुःखस्य कारणम्

mārga-khedena vā kaccid
vihvalābhūd rujāthavā
śīghraṃ vada mahā-bhāge
svasya duḥkhasya kāraṇam

mārgaon the path; khedena—by trouble; va—or; kaccit—something; vihvalā—agitated; abhūt——became; rujāwith sickness; athavā—or; śīghram—for a long time; vadatell; mahā-bhāge—O beautiful one; svasya—own; duḥkhasya—suffering; kāraṇam—the cause.

English translation of verse 2.18.8:

Did some trouble happen on the way here? Do You have a sickness? O beautiful one, please tell me at length why You are unhappy.
