श्री-कृष्ण-तोषणार्थाय
भक्त्या परमया सती
इषु-पूर्णां समारभ्य
चैत्र-पूर्णावधि व्रतम्
śrī-kṛṣṇa-toṣaṇārthāya
bhaktyā paramayā satī
iṣu-pūrṇāṃ samārabhya
caitra-pūrṇāvadhi vratam
śrī-kṛṣṇa-toṣaṇārthāya—tom please Śrī Kṛṣṇa; bhaktyā—with devotion; paramayā—great; satī—the saintly girl; iṣa—Septembeḥ—October; pūrṇām—full-moon; samārabhya—beginning; caitra—March-April; pūrṇa—full moon; avadhi—until; vratam—vow.
English translation of verse 2.16.26:
Beginning with the full moon of the month of Aśvina (September-October), and ending with the full moon of the month of Caitra (March-April), to please Śrī Kṛṣṇa, saintly Rādhā followed a vow with great devotion.
