The Garga-samhita Verse 2.16.16, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 2 of Chapter 16 (The Worship of Tulasi) of Canto 2 (vrindavana-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

तुलसी-विपिन-च्छाया
यत्र यत्र भवेच् छुभे
तत्र श्राद्धं प्रकर्तव्यं
पितृणां दत्तम् अक्षयम्

tulasī-vipina-cchāyā
yatra yatra bhavec chubhe
tatra śrāddhaṃ prakartavyaṃ
pitṛṇāṃ dattam akṣayam

tulasīof Tulasī; vipinaof a forest; chāyāthe shade; yatra yatra—wherever; bhavec—may be; śubhe—auspicious; tatra—there; śrāddham—sraddha; prakartavyam—should be performed; pitṛṇām—to the pitas; dattam—offered; akṣayam—akṣaya.

English translation of verse 2.16.16:

Wherever is the beautiful shade of a Tulasī forest, there śrāddha should be offered. There akṣaya should be offered to the pitās.
