The Garga-samhita Verse 2.14.7, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 2 of Chapter 14 (Description of Kaliya’s Story) of Canto 2 (vrindavana-khanda).

कालियस्य गृहस्यापि
समयो ऽभूद् यदा नृप
तदा तार्क्ष्यं बलिं सर्वं
बुभुजे कालियो बलात्

kāliyasya gṛhasyāpi
samayo 'bhūd yadā nṛpa
tadā tārkṣyaṃ baliṃ sarvaṃ
bubhuje kāliyo balāt

kāliyasya—of Kaliya; gṛhasya—of the home; api—also; samayaḥthe time; abhūt—came; yadā—when; nṛpaO king; tadāthen; tārkṣyam—to garuḍa; balim—offering; sarvam—all; bubhuje—ate; kāliyaḥKaliya; balāt—because of strength.

English translation of verse 2.14.7:

When the time came for an offering from Kāliya's house, Kāliya himself forcibly ate the offering intended for Garuḍa.
