The Garga-samhita Verse 2.13.24, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 2 of Chapter 13 (The Story of Shesha) of Canto 2 (vrindavana-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

अनन्त-विक्रमस् त्वं वै
यतो ऽनन्त इति स्मृतः
इदं कार्यं प्रकर्तव्यं
जन-कल्याण-हेतवे

ananta-vikramas tvaṃ vai
yato 'nanta iti smṛtaḥ
idaṃ kāryaṃ prakartavyaṃ
jana-kalyāṇa-hetave

anantalimitless; vikramaḥpower; tvam—You; vai—indeed; yataḥtherefore; ananta—limitless; iti—thus; smṛtaḥ—known; idam—this; kāryam—duty; prakartavyam—should be done; janaof the people; kalyāṇa-hetave—for the welfare.

English translation of verse 2.13.24:

Your power is endless, and therefore You are known as Ananta (the endless).
