The Garga-samhita Verse 2.12.30, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 2 of Chapter 12 (Subduing Kaliya and Drinking the Forest Fire) of Canto 2 (vrindavana-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

गोपा वयस्याः श्री-कृष्णं
स-बलं शरणं गताः
नत्वा कृताञ्जलिं कृत्वा
तम् ऊचुर् भय-कातराः

gopā vayasyāḥ śrī-kṛṣṇaṃ
sa-balaṃ śaraṇaṃ gatāḥ
natvā kṛtāñjaliṃ kṛtvā
tam ūcur bhaya-kātarāḥ

gopāḥthe gopas; vayasyāḥfriends of the same age; śrī-kṛṣṇam—to Śrī Kṛṣṇa; sa-balam—with Balarāma; śaraṇam—to the shelter; gatāḥ—went; natvā—bowing down; kṛtāñjaliṃ kṛtvā—with folded hands; tam—to Him; ūcuḥ—said; bhaya-kātarāḥ—overcome with fear.

English translation of verse 2.12.30:

Overcome with fear, the gopas took shelter of Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma. Bowing down and folding their hands, they spoke to Him.
