The Garga-samhita Verse 2.12.27, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 2 of Chapter 12 (Subduing Kaliya and Drinking the Forest Fire) of Canto 2 (vrindavana-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

सुतं लब्ध्व यशोदा सा
सुत-कल्याण-हेतवे
ददौ दानं द्विजातिभ्यः
स्नेह-स्नुत-पयोधरा

sutaṃ labdhva yaśodā sā
suta-kalyāṇa-hetave
dadau dānaṃ dvijātibhyaḥ
sneha-snuta-payodharā

sutam—son; labdhva—attaining; yaśodāYaśodā; sā—she; suta-kalyāṇa-hetave—for the auspiciousness of her son; dadau—gave; dānamcharity; dvijātibhyaḥ—to the brāhmaṇas; sneha-snuta-payodharāmilk flowing from her breasts.

English translation of verse 2.12.27:

When Yaśodā attained her son, milk flowed from her breasts. For her son's welfare she gave charity to the brāhmaṇas.
