The Garga-samhita Verse 2.12.22, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 2 of Chapter 12 (Subduing Kaliya and Drinking the Forest Fire) of Canto 2 (vrindavana-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

पाहीति प्रवदन्तं तं
कालियं भगवान् हरिः
प्रणतं सम्मुखे प्राप्तं
प्राह देवो जनार्दनः

pāhīti pravadantaṃ taṃ
kāliyaṃ bhagavān hariḥ
praṇataṃ sammukhe prāptaṃ
prāha devo janārdanaḥ

pāhi—save; iti—thus; pravadantam—saying; tam—to him; kāliyam—Kaliya; bhagavānLord; hariḥ—Kṛṣṇa; praṇatam—bowed down; sammukhe—in the presence; prāptam—attained; prāha—said; devaḥ—the Lord; janārdanaḥ—the savior from miseries.

English translation of verse 2.12.22:

When Kāliya bowed down and said, "Please save me!" Lord Kṛṣṇa, the savior from miseries, spoke to him.
