The Garga-samhita Verse 2.12.9, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 2 of Chapter 12 (Subduing Kaliya and Drinking the Forest Fire) of Canto 2 (vrindavana-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

वाम-हस्ते हरिं सर्पो
रुषा जग्राह माधवम्
हरिर् दक्षिण-हस्तेन
गृहीत्वा तं महा-खलम्

vāma-haste hariṃ sarpo
ruṣā jagrāha mādhavam
harir dakṣiṇa-hastena
gṛhītvā taṃ mahā-khalam

vāma-haste—the left hand; harim—Kṛṣṇa; sarpaḥthe snake; ruṣāangrily; jagrāha—grabbed; mādhavam—Kṛṣṇa; hariḥ—Kṛṣṇa; dakṣiṇa-hastena—with His right hand; gṛhītvāgrabbing; tam—him; mahā-khalam—the great demon.

English translation of verse 2.12.9:

The snake angrily grabbed Kṛṣṇa's left hand. Then with His right hand Kṛṣṇa grabbed the demon-snake.
