गोपार्भकाश् च श्री-कृष्णं
वत्सैः सार्धं समागतम्
क्षणार्धं मेनिरे वीक्ष्य
कृष्ण-माया-विमोहिताः

gopārbhakāś ca śrī-kṛṣṇaṃ
vatsaiḥ sārdhaṃ samāgatam
kṣaṇārdhaṃ menire vīkṣya
kṛṣṇa-māyā-vimohitāḥ

gopagopa; arbhakāḥ—boys; ca—and; śrī-kṛṣṇam—Śrī Kṛṣṇa; vatsaiḥ—with the calves; sārdham—with; samāgatam—come; kṣaṇaa moment; ardham—half; menire—considered; vīkṣyaseeing; kṛṣṇa-māyā-vimohitāḥ—bewildered by Kṛṣṇa's illusory potency.

English translation of verse 2.9.53:

Bewildered by Kṛṣṇa's yogamāyā potency, when they saw Kṛṣṇa with the calves, the gopa boys thought He had been gone for only half a moment.
