भक्तो भजेद् अज-पतिं हृदि वासुदेवं
निर्धूम-वह्निर् इव मुक्त-गुण-स्व-भावः
पश्यन् घटेषु स-जलेषु यथेन्दुम् एकं
एतादृशः परमहंस-वरः कृतार्थः
bhakto bhajed aja-patiṃ hṛdi vāsudevaṃ
nirdhūma-vahnir iva mukta-guṇa-sva-bhāvaḥ
paśyan ghaṭeṣu sa-jaleṣu yathendum ekaṃ
etādṛśaḥ paramahaṃsa-varaḥ kṛtārthaḥ
bhaktaḥ—a devotee; bhajet—may worship; aja-patim—the master of Brahmā; hṛdi—in his heart; vāsudevam—Lord Vāsudeva; nirdhūma—without smoke; vahniḥ—fire; iva—like; mukta—freed; guṇa—from the modes of nature; sva-bhāvaḥ—whose character; paśyan—seeing; ghateṣu—in pots; sa-jaleṣu—filled with water; yathā—as; indum—moon; ekam—one; etādṛśaḥ—like that; paramahaṃsa-varaḥ—the best of the swanlike saints; kṛtārthaḥ—who has attained perfection.
English translation of verse 2.9.11:
A devotee like a smokeless flame free from the touch of the material modes, who worships Lord Vāsudeva in his heart and sees the one Lord Vāsudeva present in everyone's heart as one moon is reflected in many pots of water, is perfect, the best of swanlike saints.
