Verse 2.9.8

वृक्षा जलेन चलतापि चला इवात्र
नेत्रेण भूरि-चलितेन चलेव भूश् च
एवं गुणैः प्रकृति-जैर् भ्रमतो जन-स्थं
सत्यं वदेद् गुण-सुखाद् इदम् एव कृष्ण

vṛkṣā jalena calatāpi calā ivātra
netreṇa bhūri-calitena caleva bhūś ca
evaṃ guṇaiḥ prakṛti-jair bhramato jana-sthaṃ
satyaṃ vaded guṇa-sukhād idam eva kṛṣṇa

vṛkṣāḥ—trees; jalena—by the water; calatā—moving; api—even; cala—moving; iva—like; atra—here; netreṇa—by the eye; bhūri-calitena—moving greatly; cala—moving; iva—like; bhūś—earth; ca—and; evam—thus; guṇaiḥ—by the modes; prakṛti-jaiḥ—born from matter; bhramataḥ—bewildering; janain the people; stham—situated; satyam—truth; vadet—may speak; guṇa—quality; sukhāt—out of happiness; idam—this; eva—indeed; kṛṣṇa—O Kṛṣṇa.

English translation of verse 2.9.8:

When water moves, the trees reflected on it seem to move also. When the eyes are tossed to and fro, the earth seems to move. O Kṛṣṇa, bewildered by the modes of material nature, the people say material sense pleasures are real.
