The Garga-samhita Verse 2.5.16, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 2 of Chapter 5 (The Liberation of Bakasura) of Canto 2 (vrindavana-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

तताद गदया तं वै
भद्रकाली तरस्विनी
मूर्छितस् तत्-प्रहारेण
परं कश्मलतां ययौ

tatāda gadayā taṃ vai
bhadrakālī tarasvinī
mūrchitas tat-prahāreṇa
paraṃ kaśmalatāṃ yayau

tatāda—struck; gadayā—with a club; tam—him; vai—indeed; bhadrakālīBhadrakālī; tarasvinī—powerful; mūrchitaḥ—fainted; tat-prahāreṇa—by the blow; param—great; kaśmalatām—coma; yayau—attained.

English translation of verse 2.5.16:

Then powerful goddess Bhadrakālī struck him with a mace. With that blow he fainted and fell into a deep coma.
