नीहारास्त्रेण तं सोमः
सञ्जघान महा-बकम्
शीतार्तो मूर्छितो दैत्यो
न मृतः पुनर् उत्थितः
nīhārāstreṇa taṃ somaḥ
sañjaghāna mahā-bakam
śītārto mūrchito daityo
na mṛtaḥ punar utthitaḥ
nīhāra-astreṇa—with his ice-weapon; tam—him; somaḥ—Soma; sañjaghāna—struck; mahā-bakam—the great duck; śīta—with cold; ārtaḥ—pained; mūrchitaḥ—fainted; daityaḥ—the demon; na—not; mṛtaḥ—died; punaḥ—again; utthitaḥ—stood.
English translation of verse 2.5.13:
With his ice-weapon Soma struck the great duck. Tormented by the cold, the demon fainted, but then again he stood up.
