वायव्यास्त्रेण वायुस् तं
सञ्जघान बाकं ततः
उच्चचाल बाकस् तेन
पुनस् तत्र स्थितो ऽभवत्

vāyavyāstreṇa vāyus taṃ
sañjaghāna bākaṃ tataḥ
uccacāla bākas tena
punas tatra sthito 'bhavat

vāyavya-astreṇa—with his wind-weapon; vāyuḥVāyu; tam—him; sañjaghāna—struck; bākam—the duck; tataḥ—then; uccacāla—flew away; bākaḥ—the duck; tena—by that; punaḥ—again; tatra—there; sthitaḥ—stood; abhavat—became.

English translation of verse 2.5.8:

With his wind-weapon Vāyu struck the duck demon. The duck flew away and then returned.
