The Garga-samhita Verse 2.5.7, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. त्रिलोचनस् त्रि-शूलेन
तं जघान महासुरम्
छिन्नैक-पक्षो दैत्यो ऽपि
न मृतो ऽति-भयङ्करः

trilocanas tri-śūlena
taṃ jaghāna mahāsuram
chinnaika-pakṣo daityo 'pi
na mṛto 'ti-bhayaṅkaraḥ

trilocanaḥŚiva; tri-śūlena—with his trident; tam—him; jaghāna—struck; mahāsuram—the great demon; chinnacut; eka—one; pakṣaḥ—wing; daityaḥ—the demon; api—even; na—not; mṛtaḥ—died; ati-bhayaṅkaraḥ—very fearful.

English translation of verse 2.5.7:

With his trident Śiva struck the great demon. One wing was cut off, but still the very fearful demon did not die.
