ततो वेगेन महता
कालिन्दी सरितां वरा
बिभेद विरजा-वेगं
निकुञ्ज-द्वार-निर्गता

tato vegena mahatā
kālindī saritāṃ varā
bibheda virajā-vegaṃ
nikuñja-dvāra-nirgatā

tataḥthen; vegena—with power; mahatāgreat; kālindīthe Yamunā; saritām—of rivers; varāthe best; bibheda—broke; virajā-vegam—the current of the Virajā; nikuñjaof a forest grove; dvārato the gate; nirgatā—gone.

English translation of verse 2.3.4:

Then, with great force breaking through the current of the Virajā, the Yamunā left the gate of the transcendental forest grove.
