The Garga-samhita Verse 2.2.38, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 2 of Chapter 2 (Description of Giriraja Govardhana’s Birth) of Canto 2 (vrindavana-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

दान-लीलां मान-लीलां
हरिर् अत्र करिष्यति
तस्मान् मया न गन्तव्यं
ब्बूमिश् चेयं कलिन्दजा

dāna-līlāṃ māna-līlāṃ
harir atra kariṣyati
tasmān mayā na gantavyaṃ
bbūmiś ceyaṃ kalindajā

dānaof paying a toll; līlām—pastimes; mānaof jealous anger; līlām—pastimes; hariḥLord Hari; atra—here; kariṣyati—will do; tasmān—therefore; mayāby me; na—not; gantavyam—should be gone; bbūmiś—earth; ca—and; iyamthis; kalindajā—the Yamunā.

English translation of verse 2.2.38:

Here Lord Hari will enjoy pastimes of paying a toll and pastimes of jealous anger. For this reason I should not leave this place where the Yamunā flows.
