बृहत्-सानुर् गिरिर् यत्र
यत्र नन्दीश्वरो गिरिः
क्रोशानां च चतुर्-विंशद्-
विस्तृतैः काननैर् वृतम्

bṛhat-sānur girir yatra
yatra nandīśvaro giriḥ
krośānāṃ ca catur-viṃśad-
vistṛtaiḥ kānanair vṛtam

bṛhatgreat; sānuḥpeak; giriḥ—mountain; yatrawhere; yatra—where; nandīśvaraḥNandīśvara; giriḥ—mountain; krośānām—of krośas; ca—also; catur-viṃśat—24; vistṛtaiḥ—expanse; kānanaiḥ—with forests; vṛtam—filled.

English translation of verse 2.1.17:

. . . where is the mountain Bṛhatsānu, where is the mountain Nandīśvara, and where there are great forests for 24 krośas.
