The Garga-samhita Verse 1.19.9, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 19 (Breaking of the Two Arjuna Trees) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

यदा यशोदा गत-बन्धनेच्छा
खिन्ना निषण्णा नृप खिन्न-मानसा
आसीत् तदायं कृपया स्व-बन्धे
स्वच्छन्द-यानः स्व-वशो ऽपि कृष्णः

yadā yaśodā gata-bandhanecchā
khinnā niṣaṇṇā nṛpa khinna-mānasā
āsīt tadāyaṃ kṛpayā sva-bandhe
svacchanda-yānaḥ sva-vaśo 'pi kṛṣṇaḥ

yadā—when; yaśodāYaśodā; gatagone; bandhanabinding; icchādesire; khinnā—depressed; niṣaṇṇā—morose; nṛpaO king; khinnaunhappy; mānasāat heart; āsīt—was; tadāthen; ayamHe; kṛpayā—mercifully; sva-bandhe—in His bondage; svacchanda-yānaḥ—independent; sva-vaśaḥ—independent; api—even; kṛṣṇaḥKṛṣṇa.

English translation of verse 1.19.9:

When, frustrated and depressed, Yaśodā stopped trying, then independent Kṛṣṇa kindly allowed her to bind Him.
