The Garga-samhita Verse 1.18.1, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 18 (Vision of the Universal Form) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

श्री-नारद उवाच
गोपी-गृहेषु विचरन् नवनीत-चौरः
श्यामो मनोहर-वपुर् नव-कञ्ज-नेत्रः
श्री-बाल-चन्द्र इव वृद्धि-गतो नराणां
चित्तं हरन्न् इव चकार व्रजे च शोभाम्

śrī-nārada uvāca
gopī-gṛheṣu vicaran navanīta-cauraḥ
śyāmo manohara-vapur nava-kañja-netraḥ
śrī-bāla-candra iva vṛddhi-gato narāṇāṃ
cittaṃ harann iva cakāra vraje ca śobhām

śrī-nāradaḥ uvāca—Śrī Nārada said; gopīof the gopīs; gṛheṣuin the homes; vicaran—thinking; navanītaof butter; cauraḥthe thief; śyāmaḥdark; manoharacharming; vapuḥform; navanew; kañja—lotus; netraḥeyes; śrī—handsome; bālarising; candraḥmoon; iva—like; vṛddhi-gataḥfull; narāṇām—of men; cittam—the heart; haran—stealing; iva—like; cakāradid; vraje—in Vraja; ca—also; śobhām—beauty.

English translation of verse 1.18.1:

Śrī Nārada said: Wandering from one to another of the gopīs' homes and stealing the hearts of the cowherd people, that charming, handsome, blossoming-lotus-eyed dark butter-thief, like a rising full moon, brought great beauty to Vraja.
